Long Story Short
I saw one of my first Drag Queen Shows in Edinburgh
It was amazing.
As a final act, the artist performed to the song I am what I am by Gloria Gaynor while taking off all accessories that makes a traditional ” Drag Queen”
Wig, dress, corset, make up etc…
It was such a powerful act that still strikes me to this day.
So
At the beginning of Pride week,
I painted a white acrylic background on an used board of mixed wood
Then with make-up
Eye liner, eye shadow and Mascara
I drew that same figure from this powerful act.
A silhouette, a movement, a performance, an action, a message.
